There was a change of aircraft at Muscat and Amma was very apprehensive about the entire trip as we had to go through the ordeal twice and Amma wasn't sure how Chaami would cope. To add to Amma's fears, while waiting to board the flight to Muscat, Chaami lost balance while holding a chair and hurt himself. He had a little swelling under his left eyebrow but did not cry as much as Amma thought he would, thanks to his Ajji who diverted his attention soon and comforted him. Although Chaami was back to normal in a few minutes, Amma was extremely tensed and was very scared thinking of what she'd have to hear from Appa [It is very difficult for Amma to not tell Appa, esp. when it is about Chaamu]
The first flight, from Bahrain to Muscat, was successful for Amma as Chaami coped really well and even smiled at the air hostess. We were in the first row, thanks to Candy Aunty's help, so there was enough space for Chaami to stand on the floor comfortably whenever he wanted. Amma was quite confident for the next flight but her only worry was that we were seated on the third row. Amma tried her best to get it changed to the first row but it was already taken and the flight was full and there were a few other babies who were also in the seats behind so it was fait accompli. Chaami was alright during take-off and even after until they started serving dinner when a hot aluminium box of food fell on Chaami accidentally. Chaami was happily sitting on Amma's lap in the aisle seat watching the in-flight entertainment screen above when all of a sudden the air-hostess dropped one of the hot aluminium boxes of food while trying to pick it up to serve someone. Unfortunately the box fell again near Chaami's left eye and there was a tiny cut. Chaami cried for a while and Amma was also in tears again. After this incident Chaami was quite restless and kept whining as he was very sleepy (it was 2AM Bahrain Time) and there wasn't enough space for him to stretch himself and sleep comfortably. Ajji also tried all means to comfort him but it took quite a while for Chaami to fall asleep. Thankfully we did not see anyone staring at us with an angry grin.
We landed in Bengaluru on time at 6:20AM. Amma was happy to get out of the flight and was also very thrilled to find a very neat & colorful baby care room in the baggage claim area. The room had a cradle, few cribs & a nice diaper changing area. They also had a poster with a welcome note and Amma couldn't resist clicking a selfie with Chaami in spite of both being tired. We then took the taxi to Mysore that Taata had arranged and all three of us slept throughout the car journey. We reached Mysore just few minutes before noon and were greeted by Taata, Prema Ajji and Raju Taata. Prema Ajji had put up a welcome board for Chaami and also welcomed Chaami and Amma with an aarti. Amma felt very blessed and thus ended Chaami's first trip from Bahrain to Mysore.
